Kevin Anderson (Philadelphia Freedoms) achieved a new career-high singles ranking after his run to the Mutua Madrid Open semifinals over the weeknd.

Anderson moved up to No. 7 in the latest ATP Singles Rankings thanks to his Madrid efforts. The South African had previously been 0-10 in ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinals but topped qualifier Dusan Lajovic 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-3 to get over the hurdle; he ultimately went down to Dominic Thiem in the last four. Anderson will look to back up his performance in Rome this week, where he is slated to meet Aljaz Bedene in the second round.

Reigning WTT Female MVP Andreja Klepac (Orange County Breakers) also celebrated a rankings milestone. In reaching the Madrid semifinals with the New York Empire‘s Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, Klepac jumped to a new career-best No. 14 (alongside Martinez Sanchez). The pair have advanced to three finals in 2018, finishing runner-up in Brisbane, Doha and Charleston.

San Diego Aviators‘ returnee Naomi Broady was triumphant at the ITF $60k event in Fukuoka, Japan, partnering Asia Muhammad to the doubles crown. Broady and Muhammad dismantled Tara Moore & Amra Sadikovi─ç 6-2, 6-0 in the final. Earlier this spring, Broady captured her first WTA doubles title in Monterrey with Sara Sorribes Tormo.
